Plans
When you finish onboarding we combine four things: what you told us (URL, description, audience, goal, stage, budget, what you've already tried), what we read from your site, your competitors, and the closest matches from our library of growth plays. That context goes to the planner model, which returns a ranked checklist — the plays with the biggest payoff for your stage and budget first.
Every task comes with the reason it's on the list, the steps to run it, the effort, the expected impact and the tools plus rough monthly cost.
Yes. Hit Regenerate any time your business details change, add your own tasks manually, tick things off as you ship them, or delete anything that doesn't fit. The sidekick can also add tasks straight to your checklist during a chat — just ask.
We read your public pages and pull out positioning, pricing clarity, the calls to action, the proof you show (logos, reviews, case studies) and the obvious gaps. It ends with quick wins you can ship without a designer, and the findings feed straight into how your plan is ranked.
Nine times out of ten the profile is thin. Open Business details, push the context strength meter up — audience, competitors, what you've already tried, budget, bandwidth — then regenerate. You can also tell the sidekick "we can't do paid ads" or "no outbound" and it will keep that in mind and swap the offending tasks out.
- Impact — expected size of the result if the play works for a business like yours.
- Effort — realistic time to execute properly, not a best case.
- Fit — how closely the play matches your stage, goal, budget ceiling, risk appetite and chosen channels. Fit drives the ordering.
You can do whatever you like, but the sidekick will keep you on the task that's in progress: it won't hand you a new play until the current one is done, parked or you ask for something else. Finishing one play properly beats half-running five.
Sidekick
Treat it like a growth lead who already read your site. Good prompts:
- "Walk me through executing task 3 step by step."
- "Write the outreach sequence for the Reddit thread play."
- "Which of these moves should I do first with £200/mo?"
- "What are competitors doing that we're not?"
- "Here's last month's GA4 export — what's broken?"
Your business profile, every note in the “What your sidekick remembers” panel, your uploaded reports and the full history of each conversation thread. Anything it learns mid-chat that's worth keeping, it saves as a note — you can delete any note at any time.
Specific beats broad. The biggest upgrades:
- Name the task or play you're working on rather than asking in general.
- Say the constraint — budget, deadline, who's doing the work.
- Paste real numbers or attach the export instead of describing it.
- Ask for a deliverable: "write the five emails", "give me the page outline".
- Correct it once and it saves the correction as a note for next time.
Yes. Tell it "done" or "I shipped that" in chat and it marks the task complete on your checklist straight away — you'll see the tick appear on the growth plan without touching it. It works the other way too: anything you tick manually is context for the next answer.
After every reply we suggest two or three follow-ups based on what was just said — the next step, a template, a metric to check, or confirming the task is finished. Tap one to send it, or ignore them and type your own.
Yes. The thumbs up and thumbs down under each answer feed straight back in: it repeats the style and depth of answers you rated helpful and avoids the ones you didn't. It also remembers durable facts about your business, your uploads and everything you've completed.
Workspaces
Yes. Use the workspace switcher at the top of the sidebar to add another business — each one gets its own details, uploads, memory and growth checklist, and the sidekick only ever sees the workspace you're in.
Shared workspaces are coming. For now one login owns the workspaces, and you can add as many businesses as you like under it. Add your email on the Account page and we'll tell you the day team seats land.
Use the switcher at the top of the sidebar. Everything is scoped to the workspace you're in — plan, chats, uploads, notes and audits — so nothing leaks between businesses.
Uploads
CSV, TXT, MD and JSON, up to a few hundred KB each — GA4 and Search Console exports, ad reports, keyword lists, customer surveys, changelogs. Attach them in the chat composer with the paperclip, or add them on the Business details page. Uploaded reports are stored against your workspace so the sidekick can refer back to them later. PDFs, spreadsheets (.xlsx) and images aren't supported yet — export to CSV first.
Plays & risk
Our library covers the whole spectrum, from content and pSEO through to brand bidding, parasite SEO, scraped-list outbound and LinkedIn automation. Plays that carry real risk are always shown with:
- The label — aggressive or grey hat.
- The downside — ban, platform penalty, legal exposure or reputation hit.
- A safer alternative that targets the same outcome.
Nothing illegal, nothing that deceives your customers, and nothing that fakes identities, reviews or votes. Everything else is your call — we give you the trade-off, you decide.
Each play in the library ships with the tools that actually run it and their real pricing tier. Every task shows its own tools and rough monthly cost, so you can see what executing the plan costs before committing to anything.
Billing
Every workspace starts with a 7-day free trial. Growth is $29/month per workspace. Running several businesses? Agency starts at $229 a month for up to 10 businesses. Card up front, cancel in one click.
Everything lives on the Billing page: switch between monthly and yearly, change plan or cancel. Cancelling keeps access until the end of the period you've paid for, and your plan, uploads and chat history stay exactly where they are on the free tier. Invoices are listed on the same page.
Every payment produces a downloadable receipt under Billing → Invoices, and we email a copy to your account address. During the trial there's nothing to bill, so the list stays empty until you upgrade.
Support
Use the thumbs-down on any bad answer (it tells us exactly which reply missed), or get in touch. We're shipping fixes weekly.
Long answers stream in pieces, so give it a few seconds. If a reply stalls, send the message again in the same thread — history is saved, so nothing is lost. Repeated failures usually mean an oversized upload: split large CSVs and retry, then tell us if it's still failing.
Getting started
- Finish onboarding so the plan is built from real context, not guesses.
- Run the site audit on the Business details page.
- Open the top task and ask the sidekick to walk you through step one.
- Upload one report — GA4, Search Console or your ad export.
- Tick the first thing you actually ship. Ranking improves as you do.
Pick two or three tasks a week, not ten. Start whatever you're working on so the "This week" card tracks it, snooze anything blocked, and tick as you ship. Regenerate roughly monthly, or whenever your goal, budget or stage changes — the plan re-ranks around what you've completed.
Click the compass icon at the bottom of the sidebar and a six-step walkthrough guides you through the plan, running a task, ticking it off, the sidekick, your business details and where to get help. It runs automatically the first time you sign in, and you can replay it any time.
Privacy
Your business details, uploads, notes and conversations are stored against your account and only visible to you. Delete any note or upload from the Business details page at any time, or email us to have the whole account removed — we'll confirm once it's done.
No. Your content is used to answer you and build your plan, nothing else. The play library is written by us; the only thing we learn from usage is anonymised signal on which plays get completed versus skipped, which improves ranking for everyone.
Account
The admin console is internal to the gtm.help team. It only appears in the sidebar for accounts with the admin role, and the pages themselves check permissions on the server — so there's nothing to see there on a normal account.
