Who we are

gtm.help is operated by MRGN Ventures Ltd, 71-75 Shelton Street, Covent Garden, London, United Kingdom, WC2H 9JQ. We are the data controller for the information described here. For anything privacy related, email team@gtm.help and a human will reply.

What we collect

  • Account data: your email address, password hash (we never see the password itself), sign-in timestamps and email preferences.
  • Workspace data: the business details you enter — website URL, description, audience, goal, stage, competitors, hours per week and budget.
  • Content you create: your growth plan and task progress, your conversations with the consultant, notes, post drafts you write with the Reddit, LinkedIn and X agents, and any analytics exports or reports you upload.
  • Public web content: pages from the website address you give us and from competitor sites, fetched so the plan can be specific to you.
  • Technical data: IP address, browser and device type, pages viewed, referring source, and error logs. IP addresses are also used for abuse and rate-limit protection.
  • Anonymous URL captures: if you paste a website address before creating an account, we store that address and the page it came from so the plan is ready when you sign up.

We do not ask for, and ask that you do not upload, special-category data (health, biometric, political or similar) or payment card numbers.

Why we use it, and our legal basis

  • To provide the service — generating your plan, running the consultant, saving your progress. Legal basis: performance of a contract.
  • To keep the service safe — rate limiting, abuse and content moderation, fraud prevention. Legal basis: legitimate interests.
  • To improve the product — aggregated, de-identified usage patterns and error reports. Legal basis: legitimate interests.
  • To email you — sign-in and account emails, plan-ready notifications, weekly digests and occasional product news. Service emails are contractual; marketing emails rely on consent or legitimate interests and every one has an unsubscribe link.
  • To meet legal obligations — tax, accounting and lawful requests.

We do not sell your personal information, we do not share it for cross-context behavioural advertising, and we do not use your private workspace content to train public AI models.

AI processing

To produce your plan and answer your questions, the relevant parts of your workspace content are sent to third-party AI model providers through our gateway. These providers process the content to return a response and are contractually bound not to use it to train their models. Outputs are generated by a model and may be wrong — check anything important before you act on it.

Who we share it with

Only with service providers who help us run gtm.help, each under a data processing agreement and limited to what they need:

  • Cloud hosting, database and file storage providers.
  • AI model providers, via our AI gateway, for generating plans and replies.
  • Transactional and digest email delivery provider.
  • Privacy-conscious product analytics and error monitoring.
  • Stripe, our payment processor, for card processing, subscription management, tax compliance, invoicing and refunds.

We may also disclose information if required by law, or as part of a merger or acquisition — in which case we will tell you first.

Cookies and analytics

We use strictly necessary cookies and local storage to keep you signed in, remember your active workspace and theme, and protect against abuse. We use PostHog for product analytics, which may include session replay on our own pages so we can find and fix problems; it is configured to mask sensitive fields and never records your password or card details. Our marketing pages carry an X (Twitter) conversion pixel so we can measure whether our own ads lead to sign-ups; it does not follow you into your private workspace. You can clear cookies in your browser at any time, though you will be signed out.

International transfers

We are based in the United Kingdom and our providers may process data in the US and other countries. Where data leaves the UK or EEA, transfers rely on Standard Contractual Clauses or an equivalent approved safeguard.

How long we keep it

  • Account and workspace data: for as long as your account is open.
  • After you delete your account: removed from live systems within 30 days, and from encrypted backups within 90 days.
  • Anonymous URL captures: 12 months, unless they become part of an account.
  • Security, rate-limit and email delivery logs: up to 12 months.
  • Invoices and tax records: as long as the law requires.

Security

Data is encrypted in transit and at rest. Every record is tied to your account and protected by row-level access rules, so no other user can read your plan, chats or uploads. Access by our team is limited to the people who need it to support you, and privileged database functions are restricted to server-side code. No system is perfect — if we ever suffer a breach affecting your data, we will notify you and any relevant regulator without undue delay.

Your rights

Wherever you live, you can ask us to access, correct, export or delete your data, object to or restrict processing, and withdraw consent. If you are in the UK or EEA you have these rights under the UK GDPR and GDPR, and you can complain to your local supervisory authority. If you are in California, you have the right to know, delete, correct and opt out of sale or sharing (we do neither), and you will never be treated differently for exercising them.

You can delete conversations, tasks and workspaces yourself in the app, and delete your entire account from Account settings. Or email team@gtm.help and we will action it within 30 days.

Children

gtm.help is a business tool and is not intended for anyone under 16. We do not knowingly collect data from children. If you believe a child has given us data, email us and we will delete it.

Changes

If we make a material change to this policy we will update the date above and, for significant changes, email account holders before it takes effect.
