SE Ranking vs Semrush

SE Ranking is the value pick: rank tracking, audits, keyword research and white-label client reports at around half Semrush's price. Semrush wins on data depth, paid search intelligence and the size of its keyword database.

  • No affiliate links
  • Public pricing only
  • Updated by hand

SE Ranking is one of those tools that agencies quietly use and rarely write about. It covers the same broad ground as Semrush, and its rank tracking is often preferred because you can track any location and device without buying a bigger tier.

Where it loses is depth. Semrush's keyword and backlink databases are larger, and its ad intelligence has no cheap equivalent.

Pick one

Which one fits you.

Choose SE Ranking if

  • You track rankings for several sites or locations
  • You send client reports and want them branded
  • Budget matters more than database size

Choose Semrush if

  • You need the deepest keyword and competitor data
  • You run paid search alongside organic
  • You want one tool the whole marketing team uses

When neither is the answer

If you have one site and under 50 target keywords, Search Console plus a free rank tracker covers it. Suites earn their money across many sites.

Questions

Common questions.

Is SE Ranking's data accurate?

Rank tracking is measured directly and reliable. Search-volume and traffic estimates are modelled, like every tool's, and differ from Semrush's numbers — compare trends within one tool rather than across tools.

Can I move between them easily?

Keyword lists and rank-tracking projects export as CSV from both. Historical rank data doesn't transfer, so you restart that timeline whichever way you switch.
