Why is my website not getting any traffic?
Zero traffic almost always comes down to one of four causes: the site has no pages written around terms people actually search, nothing else on the internet links to it, it's been live for under three months, or all the effort went into design with none into distribution. Fixing distribution usually produces visible traffic within 4–8 weeks.

Check what you're actually asking Google to rank you for
A homepage titled 'Welcome to Acme' targets nothing. Each important page should answer one specific question a buyer types.

Search your own target phrase
If you wouldn't find your own site on page one or two, no one else will either. Compare your page to what currently ranks and see what's missing.

Count how many other sites link to yours
New sites with zero backlinks rarely rank for anything competitive, regardless of content quality. Directories, partner mentions and guest posts all help.
- Step 4
Post the content somewhere with existing readers
A relevant community, a newsletter, or an outreach email to five people who'd genuinely find it useful. Traffic has to come from somewhere before search sends any.

Give it three months before judging
New pages on new domains commonly take 8–12 weeks to be indexed and ranked at all, even when everything else is right.
Worth knowing
The bits people get wrong.
It's common to build an entire site before writing a single page aimed at a real search term, then wonder why traffic never arrives. Search traffic goes to specific answers to specific questions — a general 'services' page rarely earns any.
Traffic also compounds slowly on a new domain with no history. A site that publishes one solid, targeted page a week for three months typically has a stronger traffic curve at month six than one that published ten pages in week one and then stopped.

Commonly 8–12 weeks for the first meaningful traffic, and 6 months or more to reach a steady level, assuming pages are targeted at real search terms and something links to the site.
Do I need backlinks to get any traffic at all?
For anything competitive, yes, some are needed. For a narrow, low-competition question with almost no one else answering it well, a well-written page can rank with very few or no backlinks.
Is social media sharing enough to drive traffic without SEO?
It can produce a short spike on the day of posting, but it rarely produces ongoing traffic weeks later the way a well-targeted, findable page does.
