Elevator Pitch Generator: what it does
An elevator pitch is one sentence naming who you help and what changes for them, followed by one line of evidence. Thirty seconds is the ceiling, not the target — the good ones take about twelve and leave room for a question.

Worked example
Here's one we ran earlier.
A £29/month booking app for independent UK hair salons
To a customer
Leads with the pain"We're the booking system for one and two-chair salons. It takes the deposit for you, so you stop losing money to no-shows without having the awkward conversation. Setup takes an afternoon."
To an investor
Market, traction, why now"There are 40,000 independent salons in the UK and the software they're offered is built for chains. We charge £29 a month, we're at 180 salons, and they're finding us through search rather than sales."
To a partner
What's in it for them"Your reps visit forty salons a week. Every one of them loses money to no-shows. We'll pay you per salon that signs up, and it makes your rep the person who solved it."
How it works
Three steps, no account.
Lead with the person, not the product
"We help X do Y" beats "We're a platform for" because the listener knows within four words whether it applies to them.
Change the pitch for the room
A customer wants the outcome. An investor wants the market and why now. A partner wants what's in it for their audience. Same business, three different sentences.
Stop early
End on something that invites a question. A pitch that answers everything gets a nod; one that leaves a gap gets a conversation.
Questions
Common questions.
How long should an elevator pitch be?
Fifteen to thirty seconds, or about sixty words. Anything longer stops being a pitch and becomes a presentation the other person didn't agree to.
What should an elevator pitch include?
Who you help, what changes for them, and one piece of evidence — a number, a customer name, or a result. Everything else is optional and most of it is filler.
How is an investor pitch different from a customer pitch?
A customer pitch is about their problem. An investor pitch is about the market size, why this is possible now and why you're the one doing it. Using the customer pitch on an investor is the most common mistake in the room.
Should I memorise it?
Memorise the first sentence so it comes out clean under pressure, then improvise the rest. A fully memorised pitch sounds memorised, which costs you more than a stumble would.
What if my business is hard to explain?
Then lead with the before-and-after rather than the mechanism. "Salons used to lose four appointments a week to no-shows; ours lose none" explains more than any description of the software.
