LinkedIn automation
Dripify vs PhantomBuster
Dripify does one job — LinkedIn sequences with connection requests, follow-ups and simple rules. PhantomBuster is a toolbox: scraping, exporting and automating across many platforms, with LinkedIn as one of them.
- No affiliate links
- Public pricing only
- Updated by hand
Both operate outside LinkedIn's official API, which means both carry account risk. LinkedIn's user agreement prohibits automated access, and accounts do get restricted. Keep daily actions low and never run these on the account your business depends on.
With that said, they aren't really competitors. One is a sequencer, the other is an automation library you assemble into workflows.
Side by side
Dripify and PhantomBuster in short.
Dripify
Cloud-based LinkedIn drip campaigns with connection requests, messages and simple branching.
- Free
- No free plan; short trial.
- Paid from
- From roughly $59 per user per month
Good at
- Runs in the cloud, so your laptop doesn't need to be open
- Campaign view and reply detection are built for sales, not for tinkerers
- Team analytics across several LinkedIn accounts
Weak at
- LinkedIn only
- Expensive per seat for what is one channel
PhantomBuster
A catalogue of ready-made automations ('phantoms') for LinkedIn, X, Instagram, Google Maps and more.
- Free
- Free tier with a small daily execution allowance.
- Paid from
- Paid plans from roughly $56/month
Good at
- Scrapes and exports from many platforms, not just LinkedIn
- Chains automations together, so a scrape can feed an enrichment and then a message
- Cheaper if you mainly want data out rather than messages in
Weak at
- You build the workflow; nothing is a campaign out of the box
- Execution-time pricing makes cost harder to predict
The differences
Where they actually diverge.
Pick one
Which one fits you.
Choose Dripify if
- You want LinkedIn outreach running without thinking about it
- Sales people, not operators, will use the tool
- You need per-rep reporting
Choose PhantomBuster if
- You mostly want lists out of platforms, not messages in
- You're happy wiring steps together yourself
- You automate across more than one network
When neither is the answer
If your LinkedIn account is your main distribution channel, do it manually. A restriction costs more than the time saved, and hand-written notes convert several times better than templated connection requests.
Questions
Common questions.
Will LinkedIn ban my account?
It can. LinkedIn's terms prohibit automated scraping and messaging, and enforcement ranges from a temporary restriction to permanent loss. Both vendors publish safety limits — treat those as ceilings, not targets, and use a secondary account where possible.
Is there a compliant alternative?
LinkedIn Sales Navigator plus manual messaging, or ads through LinkedIn's official Marketing API. Slower, but no account risk.
